Destination Riesling Enrichment Program
The Guild of Sommeliers Education Foundation is pleased to announce a new wine enrichment scholarship. Funded by Wines of Germany and the EU, the enrichment program offers two individuals, one with an 'Advanced Sommelier' certification and one with a 'Certified Sommelier' certification, the opportunity to travel to Germany in September 2009 to study Riesling and other German wines. You will visit some of the most prestigious Riesling growers in the Rheinhessen, Nahe and Mosel regiions including Klaus-Peter keller, Heyl zu Hernsheim, Kruger-Rumpf and Markus Molitor. You will also have the opportunity to experience an array of Rieslings from auslese and kabinett to sekt and trockenbeerenauslese. Germany holds more than 60 % of Riesling plantings worldwide. This all expense paid trip will be a true immersion into the birthplace of Riesling .
