SommFoundation has announced the application for this year's SommCamp enrichment program, designed specifically for those preparing to take the CMS Advanced Exam in 2018. This is a singular opportunity to expand your studies beyond the books, experiencing world-class wines in the areas where they're made!
This is an engaging, hands-on, educational experience that focuses on the elite vineyards and wineries of Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Participants will explore mountain viticulture, organic and biodynamic practices, lab work, techniques in winemaking, and much more. The trip will be an intensive workshop over three and a half days of producer visits. An intensive blind tasting seminar led by a Master Sommelier will take place on the final day.
All program costs (including travel) are covered.
Participants will travel on or before November 12 and stay through the evening of November 15.
SommCamp is sponsored by the Spire Collection (Cardinale, Lokoya, Verité, La Jota Vineyard Co., and others) as well as Larkmead Vineyards, Frog's Leap Winery, Kistler Vineyards, and Mayacamas Vineyards.
Note: Applicants must be Certified Sommeliers preparing to sit for the Advanced Exam in 2018 and currently working in the US or Canada.
APPLY HERE by Friday, August 4, at noon PST.
I got confirmation from SommFoundation that you only need to be eligible for the Advanced Exam. You do not need to have an invitation to sit.
This sounds amazing.
