...mainly for studying and printing out color maps and such. Small office style and price range: also with scanner, wireless, and duplex printing capabilities. Anyone have a specific brand and model that they recommend and can stand behind? Preferably one that doesn't run through toner cartridges at a lightning pace. Please just laser, no inkjet. Much appreciated in advance. Thank you.
I will not be held responsible for how quickly any color printer sucks ink, but...
Fun fact, lasers are divided in four categories from one to four. Printers use class one lasers. You probably don't want anything with a class four laser unless you are trying to build a futuristic ray gun or cut diamonds.
I've been using an Epson Workforce 3640 and it does a pretty darn good job. Of course it eats up ink but it has XL cartridge options, wireless network, scan, fax and even a printing app/site login for your phone, tablet or remote computer
That's a coincidence, because this is the inkjet model I would like to replace with laser. Had this model for a long time, but eventually the black ink would not print clearly no matter how many times I cleaned the nozzles and aligned. Costly replacement from professionals, so gonna try laser because its easier to highlight on for notes. But thank you Benjamin, much appreciated!
Great price and reviews, I'm on it Geoff, much appreciated! (As I topple down a googled laser search rabbit-hole for the rest of the day LOL)
If the maps are for your own personal education, I would highly suggest drawing them freehand. Nothing has helped me more with locking geography into my long term memory. Other than that I usually just print at staples if its in bulk or needs to be in color. Helps avoid crazy ink replacement cost.
Purchased a few days ago and love it, Geoff. Best printer I have ever had, thanks again!
Gonna do this as well, Vito, excellent advice my friend! Thank you.
