For anyone who thought they had DOQ Priorat nailed by memorizing the 12 village classifications, think again. The new "paratges" are being released this week to the tune of 459!
And I know some people will gripe along the lines of "Why are they doing this?" or "This is just made up!" But the truth is, there is history behind most all of these zone names and much like Burgundy, few will probably be using these on labels save but for a couple of the most famous ones. Lastly, it's necessary for building up a classification pyramid as the Premier and Grand Crus will be next up and undoubtedly incredibly embattled.
GREAT!! More information to study
Not in the Compendium yet, so I can pretend it's not real.
Can't see this being a compendium entry save but for a few notable ones like Palacios's Ermita Paratge but that will ultimately be a Gran Vi de Vinya l'Ermita so moot point.
