Anyone have any truly memorable dining experience recently in Napa Vally, specifically restaurants that are NOT on ritzy glitzy spa/resort tract? Looking for up and coming, or restaurants that punch above their weight class, so to speak, good food and wine without dropping $1,000 for dinner for two tasting menu/wine pairings.
As an aside, Kitchen Door has great brunch.
Seconded. RG is fantastic; great service and the best piece of smoked salmon I've ever had. No corkage for the first bottle.
Market, St. Helena. Try the crab cakes and the Smores. No corkage fee (up to three bottles, IIRC)
