I am currently preparing for CMS Certified and my wife surprised me and booked a trip to France. I have not been to France before and though it will be a quick one, we’d love suggestions and recommendations.
We will be in Paris November 11-14 (day trip to Champagne) and in Bordeaux from the 15-18. Typically our trips revolve around wine and visiting vineyards and we hope to do the same in France. We have a hotel for Paris but would be grateful for any suggestions and ideas for hotels, restaurants, tours, vineyards etc. in Bordeaux and St. Emilion etc. Thank you very much!
Clos Montmartre in Paris.
Hi Taylor! I just linked to this in another thread about Paris, but you might find some good suggestions for your trip on this recent thread, which is mostly focused on Paris food/drink.
Wonderful! Thank you
i’m Looking into it. Thank you!
Taylor, My wife and I just returned from Bordeaux spending 3 nights in Saint Emillion. I did not want to drive to wineries so hired Henri Challeau a former sommelier. We had great day with him. He made all of the arrangements for visits to chateau.
Here is his contact info.

I only spent a few days in Paris when I went to France a couple years ago, but I will say you have to find a morning to go to Du Pain et des Idées (https://dupainetdesidees.com). Best pastries I've ever had! Be sure to get there early, there's always a line out the door and if you're not there early enough the locals will buy everything; not even joking, I think we got there around 7:30 or 8am and there were 2 pastries left. Never been to Bordeaux, so I'm sorry I don't have any recommendations there, but in Paris we found it more fun to go to the markets for dinner rather than a restaurant because you can find everything there, the food is fantastic, and it costs less than a restaurant.
Was just there last month. We did the walking tour of Montmartre and it was worth it. The best views of the city up there!
If you are in to guided walking tours these are great.
