I just recently passed the Certified Somm exam. Am I able to include the title on my business cards? If so, would it read something like:
Certified Sommelier, Court of Master Sommeliers
From what I know this is perfectly acceptable, and I have seen it frequently. What is frowned upon by the court as I understand, is amending your name with either CS or AS. I would reach out to the court directly though!
Morgan is right; writing the full title is fine but shortening to CS or AS isn't technically allowed. The acronym is reserved for MS.
Many thanks to you all for your advice!
Definitely not trying to start an argument but, somehow this contradicts what was said by Geoff a few years ago:
"Please also note that candidates cannot use the Court’s logo or Court of Master Sommeliers on a business card or signature line. The use implies membership to the organization and that is only available to Master Sommeliers."
With that in mind, adding the full name of the CMS to ones business card would also be prohibited, except for Masters
