Good Morning all,
I looked around at the old posts about wine apps. The threads were all from quite some time back so I was curious if anyone has found any new, good, wine apps for the ipad / mac / iphone / etc. Any favorites?
The above thread seems to have the "greatest hits" of the apps that fellow Guild members recommend. Some of the other apps that I like are: Wine Industry News, Wines and Vines, BB&R Wines, Drinks, and Mixology.
there are also more and more interesting books that are "Kindle Friendly", so that could be a pretty worthwhile app as well.
Thanks Eric, I appreciate the input. I'm also trying to decide on an app or some software that would help me track a personal wine cellar as a mean of learning. Any ideas on that?
Drew, there are a number of apps and programs that help "track" and "build" cellars. Many of these are based on scores by the critics and input is given by folks that may or may not have an understanding of what they are buying. I would recommend tracking what you are buying and keeping tasting notes on what you are cellaring. One issue I have with some of these apps deals with the fact that they tend to make wine a commodity and not something that is meant to wash down a meal at some point. The Berry Bros. app might be the least offensive of these types of apps. Regardless, nothing will beat your own dedication to paying attention to the wines you purchase and enjoy.
