Modern Mead Meets the Sommelier - Mead What the Modern Sommelier needs to know

Hello fellow Somms...this was sent to me by the people behind the event at UC DAVIS...well worth participating in.  

Sunday, June 23, The Honey and Pollination Center, Robert Mondavi Institute, UC Davis will be offering a unique program. Somm Day: Modern Mead Meets the Sommelier is designed to introduce sommeliers to the intricate and varied world of mead. Attending somms will be tasting edgy cysers, barrel aged sippers, fruit forward melomels and champagne style bubbly. And of course, each will try some rich, time-honored and dense, sweet Polish Mead.

Seating for this educational opportunity is limited.  Join us to learn more about mead: the history, how it is made, its varied styles and how well it can go with many different foods.
