Hello all, My name is Greta Buccellato I'm a bartender/server in Marietta and I am organizing a Atlanta based study group.
I just recently acquired my intro Somm in November 2017 and I have a target date of summer 2019 to pass my certified, and as you know It's a lot of stuff to dig into.
This group is focused on peer to peer deductive tastings, outings, everything wine and spirits knowledge and all the cool stuff in-between.
All are welcome.
This is where I share all events, but I will also post them here as well. I know you guys are out there!
Hopefully as the community grows, so will the knowledge!

Hope to see some of you there!
Greta, are you in touch with the folks of SommSouth? They're doing a lot of what you are describing already (including hosting the event you just posted). Like you said, those people are out there. If you're not already, get in touch with Clarke Anderson and he can connect you with a whole bunch of people that share similar goals.
Thank you! I am definitely looking forward to finding like minded people in my area to study and taste with. I appreciate the feedback!
You don't need to wait that long. Six months of studying an hour a day should be more than adequate to prepare for Certified. I want to say you should consider working with other "students" somewhere ITP, but Stem is probably one of the best places around Atlanta to train for this sort of thing. Or at least it was.
I'm currently studying under that company (it was my main reason for applying there) and I agree, it is still is one of the best around. I'm just casting a wide net, in hopes that I find a group I really click with. As far as the timing, I guess I'll just feel it out. Wait and see just how quick I pick up on the German vocabulary lol.
