I just signed up to GuildSomm with the hope that I'd be abl find a weekly group in San Francisco for practicing my deductive tasting skills.
Does anyone here know of a weekly group in SF? If not, maybe you're interested in starting one with me?
About me: I've been drinking and studying wine for about 10 years informally. I decided to finally get serious about my passion and recently signed up for the Intro course / exam. I'd like to get started now on the deductive tasting and service portions, while also studying theory during my alone time.
Interested? Add your comments below or email me at email@example.com
My name is Andy and I have been looking for a tasting/study group to prepare for the WSET level 3. I am in the East bay but would consider coming to the city if I had a good, focused group to practice with. I know the SAT and the Grid are a little different but think it could still be beneficial.
I would suggest reaching out to Mark Guillaudeu (firstname.lastname@example.org). He coordinates bi-weekly tastings at Flatiron Wine and Spirits downtown on Thursday/Sunday mornings.
Thank you Timothy
As for tasting opportunities beyond organized groups, both Bay Grape in Oakland (owned by Stevie Stacionis & Josiah Baldivino) and Ungrafted in SF (owned by Rebecca Fineman & Christopher Gaither) offer blind flights on Mondays.
I would also be willing to jump in on this if you guys happen to put something together. I rotate between the east bay and the penninsula but can arrange for any location with a little bit of heads up. Looking to take my certified by the end of year and need to brush on on deductive tasting.
My name is Anna. I've just passed my Intro exam last week and I'm also looking for a tasting group to join in SF or South Bay. Please let me know if you've already found one.
