You're welcome, Kevin. Eric and I were especially surprised about Bernard advocating '05. Most examples we've had are so showy, it wouldn't have struck me as I winemaker's vintage (especially one as traditional as Raveneau). That being said, It's been a long time since I've tasted an '05 Raveneau so I'm curious to know how they're doing.

Toni, the dickle is a dance move that many have tried but few have pulled off. The origins are a little hazy, but if you would like a tutorial, Chad is your man. He has one of the better dickles in the bay area...

I love how Drew and Sayre get asked questions about draft lines and lagers and I get questions about bear hugs and dickles. We all have our spheres of influence...

Thanks, everyone, for the kind comments... Fred, you reminded me how cold those cellars were. We hit up at least 8 producers in the Cotes de Beaune and the puffy jacket did not come off once.

As a side note, my luggage came to Puligny four days later. Planes, trains, and automobiles...

This was as accurate a description of a Burgundian first visit as I can remember. It brought back my first visit to DRC standing in the cellar with Andre freezing to death while drinking fifty year old Romanee Conti. Cold, what cold?
