For anyone interested in Michigan state wine there seems to be a movement to farm blaufränkisch in the Old Mission & Leelanau Peninsula AVAs. The bottling from Left Foot Charley is super crunchy and delicious! As always, thanks Bryce!

I've had a soft spot for the Kiona Lemberger since the first time I tried it almost two decades ago, and I'm glad that they're still growing it, even if it doesn't make a lick of sense financially

Lämmler is top class. From Schnaitmann, but also Aldinger. Why no one imports Aldinger (at least to my knowledge) is a headscratcher. Superior stuff. Burg Ravensburg claims to have a bottle of Lemberger in their cellar from 1860, but I have not seen it, and in any case, they say it arrived there from von Neipperg.

Very interesting how the term may have originated. I would just like to point out more precisely—perhaps as a reminder—that 'saca' is the actual term used for the action of drawing wine from one criadera to fill the next in the solera system used for Sherry.

To my knowledge, La Rioja was not long (if ever) under Moorish rule. Unless if by region you mean Spain as a whole. La Reconquista was a centuries long process that culminated in the 1492 surrender of Granada, the last muslim kingdom in the Iberian peninsula.
