Kelli, I have been spending the past several months looking for wines form Loire. Chinon and Cab Fr. mostly and they have been wonderful. I found your article and it was exactly what I was looking for. I will be there in 2025 and hope to spend enough time to really dig deep. This article is an inspiration. Thank you.

As always, superbly written. My father is a composer, so the bit about "True A" resonates well - excuse the pun. And I had no idea about the Schumann Resonance, which you very neatly used to bring to light Joly's dedication to biodynamics.

This article comes across all at once as descriptive, educational, romantic, and frantic. I loved every sentence.

One question, do you typically write every day?

Such a good article! I cringed with recognition aka travel PTSD (the Loire is hard!) and was so happy to read about some of my favourite wineries in such an incredible region. LOL re: Joly and your wild visit there - I had a similar experience/sermon there... Radio waves! Tuning forks!

It is nice to laugh and learn at the same time! Thanks for sharing your experience full of mishaps AND for your insightful writing about the most special winemakers and vineyards. I'm ready to go back to the Loire armed with more knowledge!

While in some sense I wish your time in the Loire had been longer and less fraught with challenges, I did enjoy reading about some of your struggles!

Curious if you were able to get any sense from Brendan or others in/around Saumur as to whether they're optimistic about more growers in Breze eventually moving away from selling to the co-op. When I visited him in 2016 that was the sense I got, but I was curious if it still seemed that way.
