Too many articles that try to "celebrate" the female sommelier instead turn us into a novelty, an adjective, a pat-on-the-head-good-job-how-do-you-balance-work-and-family oddity in a 'male dominated industry', when in fact, 52% of the restaurant industry is women.

I'm glad to see these profiles without comparing the weight of lifting cases to that of lifting a toddler (I've no idea what a toddler weighs). I am glad that maybe some of the dudes in our industry can read about the weirdness that these sommeliers have experienced simply because they aren't men. It's kind of unfair, ain't it? Wouldn't it be weird if that happened to you?

Remember that there is no real difference in the job between a man and a woman, except maybe its easier for a man to buy a suit jacket with real pockets.
