Excellent line up of Chianti Classico. I had the opportunity to taste many 2008 with the Consorzio of Chianti classico and they were great. aromatic with floral character and vibrant fruit and acidity, always showing the earthy components. Thank you for sharing this article Tim , I love chianti classico and this information opened up my understanding of the region and its wines.

I have a question regarding the certified grid used for the exam. I have been using the list of approved varietals for the advanced exam as a basis for my tasting group. My main concern is for example: on the grid you will choose one box for Zinfandel/Malbec, while on the next line you would then choose either USA or Argentina. This is a bit confusing because generally one varietal comes from Mendoza and the other from California. Should I assume that I am specifying which varietal ive chosen based on the location of origin I choose on the next line?

Thank your for your help in preparing for the cert. test. I have a question for you. I'm left handed, I carry the tray with my right hand and place the glass ware with my left. Do I have to relearn carrying the tray with my left hand and placing glassware with my right in order to pass the test?

Remember your grid, stay true and do as I have taught you, only reflect on what's in your glass and not the wine you think it is in your head! Remember my brown bag trick? Signed up for the Certified Exam is Santa Rosa. This is very helpful stuff, a big thanks to all of the mentors teaching and sharing on this site and at home. There is a sense of community and camaraderie and is just another small reason I love my chosen path.
