Looks like once again a local ordinance has affected quality wine growing somewhere in the world. This time it's not the bridge in the Mosel, but sand mining in the Swaartland where there has been some really exciting things going on in the wine world.
Look for the petition in the near future if you are interested in supporting the local growers, including Eben Sadie.

Nowadays we need bridges more than ever...maybe not through vineyards though. This link might be a bit dramatic, but it does outline what's gone on with that upper Mosel project, although it is a few years old now. http://www.stuartpigott.de/?cat=20 . I have not heard anything on this project lately, but it was causing some big headlines a few years back.
