Wines of Greece Enrichment Program
The Guild of Sommeliers Education Foundation is pleased to offer Guild members the opportunity to apply for the Wines From Greece Enrichment Scholarship . Funded by Wines from Greece and the Hellenic Foreign Trade Board the enrichment program offers one Guild member the opportunity to travel to Greece in March 2010 to study Greek wines. You will visit some of the most prestigious wineries of Greece - wineries that are leading the way of the new "Greek Wine Renaissance" – and have the opportunity to taste wines made from grapes indigenous to Greece including: Agiorghitiko, Assyrtiko, Moschofilero and Xinomavro. This all expense paid trip will be a true immersion into the Greek wine and food culture.
Greece is now recognized by many in the trade as the next "up-and-coming" wine-producing region of the world. During the last 25 years the Greek wine sector has undergone a complete transformation, with a tremendous investment in modern winemaking technology and the Greek vineyard. Today’s talented Greek winemakers are crafting world-class wines from native and international varieties that now rival the best from around the globe.
Apply for the Greek Wine Enrichment Scholarship.
Please note that you must be able to travel March 5 to March 14, 2010 and have a valid passport to be eligible for the scholarship.
Application Deadline November 27th
Individuals who receive travel scholarships from the Guild of Sommeliers understand that they are representing the Guild and agree to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Inappropriate behavior may result in termination of the scholarship.
