Sarah Jane Evans MW is an award-winning wine writer with a special interest in Spain. She divides her time between wine writing, hosting masterclasses, and consulting internationally, and she is a contributing editor for Decanter magazine. Sarah Jane became an MW in 2006, winning the Robert Mondavi Winery Award for the highest overall marks in the Theory papers. She was the chairman of the Institute of Masters of Wine from 2014 through 2016 and continues to work as an educator for the Institute. She is a former co-chair of the Decanter World Wine Awards and is currently a series editor for the Classic Wine LIbrary.
Sarah Jane's books include The Wines of Central and Southern Spain, The Wines of Northern Spain, Seville, and Chocolate Unwrapped. She writes the Spain entries annually for the Hugh Johnson Pocket Wine Book. She lives in London.
