Who We Are

GuildSomm is a nonprofit international membership organization for wine professionals that promotes education and community. We strive to uphold the values of hospitality, inclusivity, and integrity in our content, and we actively work to create a platform that welcomes a variety of perspectives. Our partner organization SommFoundation helps GuildSomm members meet their educational goals through scholarships and enrichment trips.

Feature articles, podcasts, and videos are publicly available and cover varied topics on the world of wine. For members, we have additional in-depth educational materials, forums for discussion, events, and much more.

Chris Tanghe, MS
Interim Executive Director

Chris began his career in the kitchen, but inspired by front-of- house hospitality, he transitioned into wine. After working in restaurants across the country, Chris passed the MS exam in 2013. Since 2017 he has spearheaded masterclasses and webinars and contributed content as GuildSomm's chief instructor. He is now serving as GuildSomm's Interim Executive Director.

Christine Sayre
CFO & Membership Director

Leveraging her background in software and business intelligence, Christine manages GuildSomm's finances, monitors analytics, provides member services, and offers HR and other key support for the team. She was one of GuildSomm's earliest employees, joining in 2010.

Stacy Ladenburger
Director of Operations & Editor

After working in the nonprofit and food technology sectors, Stacy made her way into the wine industry through a stint at Ordinaire Wine Bar. She guides GuildSomm's internal and external operations, manages member communication, oversees content development, and edits the site.

Jennifer Angelosante
Technical Writer

Jennifer spent five years apprenticing at wineries around the world and studying winemaking at UC Davis. More recently, she worked in both viticulture and winemaking in Napa. She brings a crucial technical perspective to GuildSomm in the new role of technical writer.

Emily Nixon
Event & Project Manager

Wine captured Emily's attention through a job at a wine shop while studying abroad in Spain. She honed her skills by working in wine PR and at San Francisco's Resolute Wine Bar and Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant before joining GuildSomm as event manager.

Bryce Wiatrak
Staff Writer

Bryce entered the wine industry on a whim with a college internship. Previously serving as a junior editor at Vinous and content manager for Delectable, his work has appeared in The San Francisco Chronicle, Wine & Spirits, Wine Enthusiast, and other publications.

Andy became a Master Sommelier in 2007 and was chairman of the CMS board from 2015 through 2017.

Nicholas Paris, MW
Director Global Sourcing
E.& J. Gallo Winery

Nicholas is the director of global sourcing for E. & J. Gallo Winery. Active in education, he achieved the Master of Wine certification in 2014.

Dani is the Founder and Principal of Le Vin Nécessaire, a wine consulting business that offers its clients personalized shopping and cellaring services and wine education.

Kim Wood
Southwest Regional Manager
Wilson Daniels

Kim is the Southwest Regional Manager for the import company Wilson Daniels. Prior to working in distribution, Kim trained as a sommelier for many years and was Wine Director for Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Jason Caballero
Wine Director
Maple & Ash

Jason is the Wine Director for Maple & Ash, a wine-focused steakhouse in Scottsdale, AZ. Under his leadership, the restaurant’s wine program was recognized by Wine Spectator with a Best Award of Excellence. Prior to his current position, Caballero was Lead Sommelier at Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina in Scottsdale.
