We were talking about creating an article exploring ways you can use a tool like Excel to manage your beverage program. Do people have specific reports or ways they use Excel successfully in their program management they can share?
I would be interested in seeing it as well
Looks like you all are interested in this topic, which is great to know! If you have an Excel doc you'd like to share, you can add it to your GuildSomm profile and then let everyone know here so folks can check it out, or you can add it directly to this thread. To add it here, click "Full Editor" below where you're typing your comment, then add the file by clicking "Insert" and then "Insert image/video/file."
To add it to your profile, click "View All Files" on the right side of your profile page. There, you can upload anything you'd like to share. Only GuildSomm members can access that content.
Is there anything you wish you knew how to do in Excel? If we tackled this with an article, what would you want it to include?
I would love to take a look as well
Awesome! I didn't know that was there. It's uploaded in my profile. Thanks.
NEW WINE PERP.xlsx
Thanks for sharing this, Brandon!
^ Just added PDF example here and on Profile. Please let me know if anyone else has questions or further way I may be of assistance.
I use it not only for inventory and stocks but also for the wine list itself. I improved a lot of the inventory with graphs that help me manage the different references that I need to worry about or regions that should be more focused.
The wine list was already in excel when I came to work here but as I am thinking of facelifting it I am thinking about changing the format for word.
Anyone has other suggestions for hte wine list? Which program do you usually use?
Brandon, that is a great excel sheet!
Hello Brandon, would you mind sharing that with me as well? firstname.lastname@example.org
me as well please!
Hi brandon, would you mind sending me the doc...email@example.com
My spreadsheet looks very similar to this. It doesn't break things down as far on appellation (Should probably add that). I like it because I can track my potential profits and real profits closely. Besides data entry, the hard part is keeping an accurate inventory. I may have lost a case here or there once...err, twice. :-)
I’ve used Excel, Publisher (back when that was still a thing) and Word for wine lists. I far prefer Excel to Word. It’s much easier to adjust the spacing, and I like being able to keep notes outside of the printable margins but still see it when I open the file.
We also usee Winequest for a few years to manage our wine lists, but it was a bit cumbersome. I liked the idea of a program similar to that but the execution was just a bit off, IMO.
