Deductive Tasting - Logic Exercise #3

An exercise to practice the deductive approach. To find past discussions, search for #tastinglogic

This is a fairly minimal tasting note. I think it illustrates that even with just a few features of the Grid, your world of possibilities can become quite small.

Partial Tasting Note (some features have been purposely omitted):

  • white wine
  • moderate alcohol (13%)
  • high acidity
  • slight botrytis (ginger, saffron, honey).
1) What are all the classic styles this could be? (the "laterals" in MW-speak)
2) For each lateral, what features would rule it out, or make it more probable? Try to prioritize the most useful questions you would ask to differentiate styles.
3) For fun: What non-classic styles could this be?
