Wine on Wheels Seminar: Inclusion & Diversity with NZ Wines Friday, April 26th @ Corkbuzz Wine Studio

I am honored to have an all-star panel of the most accomplished professionals in our industry who will share their personal stories and also help us to understand how we can make this a better working environment  and how to build a longer table for all. The brains behind of all this and moderator of the panel will be my dear friend Jackie Summers who I had privilege of working alongside with at "Tales of the Cocktail" and he is absolutely brilliant and I could not think of anyone better to take the lead on this subject. Jack is a recognized hospitality industry expert, and an active voice in anti-oppression, inclusion, diversity, and marginalization. I am proud to have this panel at this seminar:
Andre Mack, Maison Noir Wines
Pascaline Lepeltier, Racines
Raj Vaidya, Dinex
Natalie Grindstaff. Craft Hospitality
Jermaine Stone, Host of Wine & Hip Hop
Sara Thomas, Le Bernardin

I could not think of people I’d rather sit side by side and help educate our community and industry about diversity, equity, and inclusion. It is Jackie's goal to make sure everyone’s narrative is expressed and that the collective perspectives can provide direction on a difficult subject to our colleagues, and our industry. Some of the topics that Jackie Summers and the panel will be covering are below:

1.Definition of systemic oppression

2. Definitions of diversity, equity, and inclusion
3. What diversity looks like
4. Why we protect the marginalized
5. Systemic oppression isn’t new and is by design
6. How this affects the hospitality industry
7. Becoming a co-resistor
8: Decentralizing power
9: Helpers, advocates, rebels, organizers.

I strongly suggest that you do not miss out on this seminar and to empower yourself with this much needed knowledge that you should have as a working professional in this industry. Each of us has a responsibility to make it better for all.

Along with the discussion we will be tasting a diverse lineup of New Zealand Wines and after the seminar there will be some more to try and to discuss among your peers. Attached is the awesome lineup that was provided by New Zealand Wines and our sponsor for the event.
