This year a lot of our masterclasses will focus in on various corners of the South African wine scene; we're starting off in NYC with some Burggundian varieties. The details are below;
Please RSVP with me - firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope you can make it!
All the best,
Wines of South Africa is starting off the year with a look at the "Burgundian varieties" Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and how they manifest themselves across the terroir of the Western Cape. Neither is a major part of the plantings in South Africa, but they are nonetheless responsible for some of the country's most remarkable wines.
Marketing Manager, writer, and former sommelier Jim Clarke will lead a tasting of a dozen wines. Examples will show off the terroir of Elgin, Hemel-en-Aarde and other parts of the Cape. This is a great chance to see the quality and value South Africa's vineyards can achieve with two of the most popular grapes in the American market.
The masterclass is free for sommeliers and other members of the wine trade as well as relevant press. Space is limited.
