Hello, Colorado friends!
My name is Matt Strauch, and I'm the Winery Experiences Manager at Bigsby's Folly, an urban winery in the RiNo district of downtown Denver, Colorado.
I know lots of folks in this area are taking their Certified exams in June or July. I myself took it last July with a number of other folks, and all six of us passed after many weeks of getting together to study, blind taste and practice.
I'd like to offer anyone out there the opportunity to come in to the winery on a regular basis to study, taste in the written grid format or practice sparking service and answering tableside questions. I have mock certified exams, access to cost-wine for the 70+ testable varietals from several distributors, cheap sparkling bottles I can sell you, and a space great for tableside work. I've heard from several people saying they don't have a job where they can practice or the resources to make this complex web of knowledge come together. It's our mission at Bigsby's to make wine more accessible and offer folks the opportunity to learn and grow as wine professionals. And drink some wine along the way.
WHEN: Saturdays at 10am. Other times TBD. The 10am to 2pm window works well, except for Sunday as we are open for brunch.
WHERE: Bigsby's Folly: A Craft Winery & Cellar Door, 3563 Wazee St., Denver, CO 80216
HOW: Reach out to me at email@example.com and let me know how I can help, and we can make a plan. Feel free to comment with questions. Cost will largely depend on how many people participate.
