What I am looking for is classic examples of regions and grapes for the Certified Exam? No one wants to pick up a bottle of a wine that fits the grape and region and then the wine has been manipulated in a way that it is not longer a classic example of that region. Do anyone have a list of wines that fit the classic examples of grapes and regions for the Certified Exam?
I would check out the blind tasting section of this site and look for these qualities in the wines you’re sourcing. Also, vintage is a factor to consider. Some challenging vintages may make it difficult for a producer in a given region to achieve a “classic” style so I’d recommend researching vintages as well.
