I'm starting a tasting group in Cleveland, Ohio that will meet once a month with each month having a different "proctor" of the tasting.
The proctor chooses the (classic) wines for that given meeting, so only the proctor knows the wines and the tasters aren't trying to "find" the wine they brought. The proctor also creates a presentation to be given at the end of the meeting discussing each wine, the wine region, the standard tasting notes, soil types, producers, etc. for all the wines, regions and vintages blind tasted.
Blind Six to Twelve Wines utilizing the Court of Master Sommelier Grid based on how many RSVP to the class. The proctor will determine whether we are each taking a wine, going over the wine as a group, etc.
We will have guest speakers whenever possible. This could include, but is not limited to, South African Overview, Wines of Australia, etc.
Cost will be $50 per month per person paid a week in advance to the meeting date via Venmo. These funds will then be used to reimburse the proctor for purchasing the wines. Any additional funds will be kept in reserve to acquire aged/rare wines for further tastings. Should you be unable to make the tasting and have already RSVPed and we're within the week window, unfortunately the funds have already been spent acquiring wine and there is no refunds.
The tasting group will be geared towards all levels of education/certification. It will also be limited to the first 12 to RSVP so we can keep the wines being purchased to a single bottle.
Please let me know if you're interested or have any questions. My email is email@example.com Thanks!
Great information and overview. Is there a location chosen for these monthly tastings? Thank you so much.
Also, I just posted a position for a Tasting Room and Event Sales Manager Position for a Winery in Norwalk. If you know anyone that may be interested I would greatly appreciate the referral. Thank you again and have a fantastic afternoon.
It will be held in Beachwood Ohio. First tasting is September 8th at 10am. Please reach out for more info.
