That kind of seems like a joke response, but I’ll take it seriously in the spirit of discourse. Are you really that cynical about wine? Is it just the taste? 7-UP w/corn dog, Pepsi w/burger! I would think a sommelier might care whether an ostensibly terroir-driven wine reflects the character of the fruit, or what was done to the fruit. In a tasting of, say, vineyard-designated cabs, would it bother you to think that some or all of the wines might be giving false impressions of the vineyards in question?
