Shoutout to all!
I've a one-week trip to Miami in the second week of March. Would you have any superb wine retailers / wine bars / restaurants to recommend? Will love to visit or to meet some of the local sommeliers! I'm sitting for my AS in spring, and will love to be able to purchase some classic wines, especially OW styles, to carry home to the Caribbean with me!
Looking forward to your comments, thank you!
Upland on Collins has a pretty cool program that Jennifer Schmitt put together. She has a nice list of Madeira as well. Zuma is good for sushi, in the Kimpton Hotel. There is a nice little retailer down in Coral Gables called Wolfe's wine shop (kind of a drive). Wynwood neighborhood has some cool spots to explore as well.
Thanks Blake! Awesome notes, I'll be staying close to Coral Gables - would definitely make my way down to Wolfe's! (and Zuma for sushi)!
My stomping ground is an hour north, so I don't have too many recommendations- but I will add that Zuma's brunch on Sundays includes unlimited Bollinger (maybe only at certain price packages?) but you can drink the price of admission in Bollinger before touching the superb sushi.
I had an awesome meal at Alter last month. Joe's Stone Crab is an iconic spot that was old school and fun, good for lunch. Lagniappe is really cool wine bar a bit off the beaten path and often has live music.
I always go to Garcia's for fresh hogfish. It is not a wine destination but you can get a decent bottle of Pouilly-Fuissé that will work beautifully.
Thats amazing Christopher, I love off the beaten track!
Geoff, thanks for the wine recommendation! Never tried hogfish before, that will be in the list for sure!
Always welcome at StripSteak at Fontainebleau! Love to have you. Make a stop to El Carjo for sure. If you can get to Wine Watch in Fort Lauderdale it's a must. Agree on Upland rec and in that area cibo does great brunch
Come visit us at Uvaggio Wine Bar on 70 Miracle Mile in Coral Gables! Just a couple blocks down from Wolfe’s Wine Shop
This weekend my wife and I at studying hard.
We are hitting a few spots to try blind.
Hakkasan has great food in Foutainbleu as well.
