It's been three years since my last visit to the Windy; a city that was once my home for seven consecutive years. A lot can change in three years. What's happening in the city that has you excited?
I'm there for a week on behalf of our wines and would love some insider info on where I should be consuming.
I grew up in Chicago and actually just moved out of state but there are so many great new places to check out! There's been some big developments in BTG lists with more obscure varietals/producers popping up. Some of my favorites...Girl and the Goat, Purple Pig, RPM Steak, Band of Bohemia, Mexique, just to name a few. River North and the Loop have some solid spots but the west loop (Fulton Market) is really blowing up with new restaurants and would be one of my first suggestions of areas to check out, Swift & Sons is a new steakhouse here with a great list and cocktail program. Also Chicago icon Gibsons opened a new restaurant Gibsons Italia. If you'll be further north then there's some smaller new bistro style restaurants in Logan Square and Ravenswood. Cheers!
Also Steak 48 in Rivers North...just opened up last year!
Seconded! But I'm a little biased...
Jerome. Pleasure to meet another former Colorado boy. I just left the mountains after seven years between Aspen & Vail to work for Andy/Peay Vineyards. Let me know if you have any time next week. I'd love to see your dining room & introduce myself. I'll also have our family's wines with me from Monday-Wednesday. Let's connect.
Band of Bohemia keeps coming up in conversation. I'll definitely check the spot out. Swift & Sons shows our wines as well which has me believing I'll probably end up there for a night. Great information. Thank you.
Def band of boheimia, purple pig, websters wine bar, girl and the goat, some of my favs. If your wanting local brews maybe hit up bangers and lace in wicker park.
Chicago Athletic Association! Historic, stunning views and phenomenal libations at all outlets.
Yessir, happy to! Feel free to send me an email and let's connect - firstname.lastname@example.org
If you're into the Nordic vibe, I had a lovely meal at Elske recently.
It does look amazing. I'll check it out. Thank you, Kelli.
Can't wait to check this place out. Everyone has great things to say. And thank you for your support of our wines at Florentine, Alexandria. I'll stop in if you'll be on the floor this week.
If you're here on a Tuesday, check out Table Donkey and Stick to see what they're pouring for "Terroir Tuesday". Often great regional, rare wines by the glass and sometimes a producer joins and engages in conversation.
