I am looking to streamline a wine club I am currently managing by utilizing specific wine club software. Does anyone have any suggestions or resources for which product to use and/or know of the pluses and minuses for each system?
Thank you in advance.
I hope everyone here has had a great start to the New Year.
What POS system are you using? I find that a wine club system that integrates and "talks to" your POS system makes life soooo much easier (it helps keep customer records, inventory, and so forth all synchronized in one place). We use Wine Direct which works perfectly for our small to mid-sized business.
Thank you for your response, especially your recommendation for finding software that speaks with one another. We are a small business currently in need of some technological upgrades to meet the demands of our brick and mortar store, online store, and wine club management going forth.
Currently we use Quick Books Point of Sale, but we are certainly open to any and all alternatives so long as the system communicates with all of the above channels and is user friendly.
I will definitely add Wine Direct to my research.
I use Bloom. It’s built on Shopify and has nice features and a clean and customizable design.
We are looking at the same upgrades, but we need an integrated club management, eCommerce, and POS system, which may or may not be what you are looking for. I think it depends on your goals for the wine club. Most modern club management systems are integrated with POS and eCommerce platforms, and depending on what you are hoping to grow the club into, one of them may be a good fit for you, but bear in mind that these types of systems are predominantly designed for DtC wineries with a limited number of SKUs. A lot of them run off of cloud servers and are iPad or mobile app run POS systems with browser-based back end stuff. If I'm reading your website correctly, you have a significant on-premise segment as well, so one of these may work for you, but I'd get on the phone or email some of the sales reps and get them to make pitches for you. It will take some time, but you'll get answers to the questions you really need for you business, which is different from a traditional winery. Basically weigh the costs of the system and the technology you'd need to implement. And then figure out what all the cost are associated with the system and make a decision, and that will be personal for your business. We've talked to Wine Direct, Order Port, Xüdle, Bloom, Vine Spring, and a couple others, and none of them are perfect, but they all have some things that they do well and don't do well. Identify your biggest need as ask them specifically about what that is. A leader will emerge amongst the pack.
