I'm hoping someone could my general understanding of acreage, hectares, etc with respect to vineyard size. Mostly,I am trying to wrap my head around it when I read somewhere that says " This cru has a size of 12 ha". Any tips for visualizing this? What would constitute small vs medium vs large?
I find it Pretty difficult to give meaning to a hectare without knowing what the planting density and yields are for that vineyard, and how to contrast that with other vineyards in the same area, plus vineyards around the world. Until that makes sense to you, you’ll always be visualizing a flat soccer field that has nothing to do with wine in the bottle.
