Just in case there are any Stage 2 Master of Wine students here on GuildSomm who did not see the notice from the IMW office sent out earlier this month: I wanted to share that the 2019 George T. Gamblin Memorial Scholarship is open for submissions until November 10, 2019. I established this scholarship last year in honor of my late father, and its purpose is to encourage higher level wine students to connect creative thinking to wine. This year, applicants are asked to pair a wine with an image captured by beloved environmentalist and photographer Ansel Adams. So far, we are thrilled with the number of submissions, but want to be sure everyone knows of the opportunity. Full scholarship details here along with the featured photograph, guidelines, and award: https://www.georgetgamblinmemorial.com/2019-scholarship-guidelines. You can also read last year's winning essay on the website or browse around here: https://www.georgetgamblinmemorial.com/winningessays/. Best of luck to all who submit, and thank you so much for taking the time to participate in something that keeps my father's memory alive! Cheers, Mary Margaret McCamic MW
This is fantastic! What a great idea. Looking forward to hearing about this year's recipient.
