I’m being told by corporate management that I need to include the Prop 65 Warning on our wine list by law. I’m wanting to verify if this is true and can’t seem to find any evidence so far. Does anyone know for sure?
prop 65 language:
WARNING: Drinking distilled spirits, beer, coolers, wine and other alcoholic beverages may increase cancer risk, and, during pregnancy, can cause birth defects. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov/alcohol.
From what I read so far there has to be signage in the restaurant but not specifically on the winelist itself it would seem.
It looks like it only applies to wineries and DTC literature- at this time. Things do change though- not always for the better. Having to list the warning for "consuming raw or uncooked food" on menus happened in 2016. That still bums me out. If you want to fill this out then you can read a bunch of stuff: https://www.assentcompliance.com/assentu/resources/whitepaper/proposition-65-safe-drinking-water-and-toxic-enforcement-act/?sem_account_id=1266304530&sem_campaign_id=1721560282&sem_ad_group_id=68967913833&sem_device_type=c&sem_keyword=%2Bprop%20%2B65%20%2Bwarning&sem_matchtype=b&sem_ad_id=354183960457&sem_network=g&sem_target_id=kwd-333941931721&sem_feed_item_id=&utm_channel=paid&utm_content=whitepaper&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=%2Bprop%20%2B65%20%2Bwarning&sem_location_id=9010854&sem_placement=&sem_placement_category=&utm_campaign=bau&gclid=CjwKCAiA6vXwBRBKEiwAYE7iSz1D1aYWeeADkScOjJYQN6NYxtaj0JbOdJmSx9JvGhFvDFSRPtmf0hoCausQAvD_BwE
