Bordeaux Wine School Seminar - Chicago - June 6th

Join us for an interactive blind tasting of Bordeaux wines and an exploration of what’s happening in Bordeaux today.

There are ever more people today who believe in human-scale Bordeaux, who farm with an eye toward organics and who revere the freshness and rectitude that once made “claret, as the British still call it, so beloved.” -- Jon Bonné,, October 4, 2018

When we think of Bordeaux, we tend to think of 120 Châteaux from well-known communes and their corresponding classifications that dominate the market. Bordeaux, however, is France’s largest AOC vineyard with 6,100 growers and 65 appellations, and its diversity of terroir means there’s a broad range of wine styles and a spirit of innovation among its many producers. Cynthia Guillemot from Château Grand Grand Français and Jean-Philippe Saby from Château Saint André Corbin will join Jesse Becker, MS for a comprehensive look at the diversity of Bordeaux today. Please join us for a seminar and three flights of wines that will reveal the range and value of modern Bordeaux. A light lunch will be served afterward.

Date: Thursday, June 6th from 10:30am to 12pm

Location: City Winery — 1200 W Randolph Street, Chicago IL

Cost: free
