Pinot Palooza - LA - 9/28

What: Pinot Palooza is all about engaging a young, motivated wine audience but not in a tacky way. Serious wine but not a super serious environment. In addition, they produce a the Pinot Palooza Magazine, which they distribute at all the events --  this is an annual publication with a current circulation the same size as Decanter.

More about Pinot Palooza: Since 2011, they have been running the event in 13 cities and 6 countries (Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan) and soon to be the USA. The growth and response to the event has been remarkable and even more so as the key audience is 60% women and 60% in the under 35 demographic (with the percentage of women increasing to 65% in the under 35 age group).  They are all about engaging a young, motivated wine audience but not in a tacky way. Serious wine but not a super serious environment. In addition, they produce a the Pinot Palooza Magazine, which they distribute at all the events --  this is an annual publication with a current circulation the same size as Decanter. This is set to increase further in 2020 and positions Pinot Palooza as much a media company as event producers. These features were recognized by the Born Digital Awards and also won the Digital Communicator of the Year (Wine) by the Wine Communicators of Australia last year.

More about Dan Sims (event organizer): Dan is an awarded Australian sommelier who has worked in restaurants for most of his career. Then, eight years ago established REVEL (then Bottle Shop Concepts, with our main event, Pinot Palooza (amongst many) first run in Melbourne in 2012. He will be running it in Los Angeles on September 28 of this year.
