  • Thanks so much! I'm intrigued to learn more about the producers, flavor profiles, and growing season of Van Duzer AVA.  Any recommendations on reading material, or what wines I should try that would characterize the region so far?

  • Great question Bree! The Van Duzer is really a unique flavor profile. The harvest is often a couple of weeks after the northerly nested-AVAs. So generally speaking all of the wines tend to have higher acidities, giving freshness and energy, and the wind influence contributes an umami salty character to the wines.  Very food friendly styles.

  • I would recommend trying the wines from Van Duzer, Left Coast and Illahee. One of my favorite sites is Johan, the biodynamic vineyard sells fruit to many exciting winemakers like Bow & Arrow and Day wines, as well as making some exceptional wines under their own Johan label.
