  • If you haven't tried the wines of Thomas Fogarty from the Santa Cruz Mountains, you have missed some of California's best Pinot Noir. The Razorback is my personal favorite. Cool climate, low alcohol, food friendly. The entry level is good, but  doesn't do justice to the single vineyard wines. The Portola Springs Chardonnay is also rock solid.

  • I'd love to give these a try. Checking out the Razorback tech sheets, 3.64 pH and 0.53 TA? I know this is a bad way to solely assess acid but this doesn't seem like what I would expect for higher acid pinot noir.

  • Razorback is their warmest Pinot Noir vineyard, and the first they pick.  As such it has the lowest acid in the family.  I don't know that I would call the Fogarty wines "high acid" - they are wines made from ripe fruit, with modest alcohols.  Mostly, what they are is freaking deelish...  You should definitely have a look.
