Our new set of Producer Profiles is focused on single malt Scotch whisky. Thanks to Rachael Liggett-Draper for her great work assembling these!
When we create a new set of profiles, it's always a challenge to determine the right criteria for the list and to identify a selection of only 25 producers to highlight. We circulate the list among several people on our team for feedback. Here, we chose to include only producers of single malt Scotch, leaving out brands that are mainly blended malt producers or sell to blended malt brands, as this helped us focus our selection. As always, give your feedback through comments and voting!

It's a great selection however I would have included Bruichladdich and Kilchoman - both are based in Islay. Bruichladdich has the distinct honour of having the peatiest whisky in the world with Octomore and Kilchoman is a truly farmed distillery that makes everything themselves from start to finish --- also the 2nd newest distillery (opened in 2008).
I think that peatiest and new are both great reasons to be omitted.
